Hello, my name is Matt Lingley,
As your counsellor, I aim to provide a safe environment where you can talk in confidence.
Many who seek a counsellor are just looking for a supportive listener during a time of need, others might be looking for longer term therapy to help facilitate greater understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their situations. Whereas some might be seeking counselling for support whilst they learn to deal with difficulties they have already faced during their life.
We all have a mental health. When our mental health is good, we tend to be able to relax more easily when needed, identify our values more easily, and have a greater ability to commit to who or what matters to us most. At times when we are struggling, counselling and therapy can support you to work through your difficulties and move on from feeling stuck.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy where you talk in confidence to a counsellor, often for support whilst you are learning to deal with difficulties in your life.
We all have a mental health. When our mental health is good we tend to be able to relax more easily when needed, achieve more and enjoy our lives more. At times when we are struggling, counselling and therapy can support you to work through your difficulties and move on from feeling stuck.
Counselling can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and some of the things that are causing you distress, it enables you to be able to see things more clearly and in different ways and helps you to develop a more honest relationship with yourself.
Counselling can both offer support in times of acute need, and be a crucial part in an ongoing journey of personal development.
What is walking counselling?
Walking and talking therapy is when the client and therapist walk together, outdoors with nature, whilst walking together the client has the opportunity to share their struggles and life situations.
